Equally important is installing it right as in many cases the damage happens because installation ignored small details that make all the difference!

Chains need to be Cleaned and Lubricated!
Clean Before Lubricating!
Lubricate chain AFTER riding NOT Before!
Never use Petroleum-based cleaners!
Never use wire brushes!
Clean using soft nylon brush or sponge.
Avoid high pressure jets or pressure washers.
When lubricating spray the chain with thin and even coating of chain lube. Rotate the wheel until you’ve covered three full rotations of the chain.
